The City of Lauderdale Lakes, Mayor and City Commission, Administration and staff join the Florida League of Cities to express our congratulations to Vice Mayor Beverly Williams on her appointment to the Board of Directors of the Florida League of Cities.
Vice Mayor Beverly Williams was elected as a commissioner in our great “We Care” City in November 2014. Her commitment to her fiduciary responsibility and progress of the City of Lauderdale Lakes is eminent in her community engagements. Vice Mayor Williams represents the City at the Broward League of Cities, on the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Board, the Broward Planning Council and also with the Broward County Housing Authority. Vice Mayor Williams is also very active with the National League of Cities where she serves on the Human Development Policy Committee, the Women in Municipal Government (WIMG) Board, and is a member of the National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials (NBC-LEO).
Vice Mayor Williams’ favorite quote is “Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve, you don’t have to make your subject and verb agree. You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love” - Dr. Martin Luther King.
We applaud Vice Mayor Williams for her commendable service throughout the years and celebrate with her as she embarks on her new journey. We look forward to her tireless leadership throughout her tenure.
