Dear Resident of Lauderdale Lakes
I want to thank you for caring about your City. I have been challenged by Mayor Hazelle Rogers, Vice Mayor Veronica Edwards Phillips, Commissioner Sandra Davey and Commissioner Marilyn Davis to personally contact residents to encourage them to complete the 2020 Census form. By doing so we will get funds from the federal government coming to the City. The census counts every person living in the United States and the five territories. Billions of dollars in federal funding goes to hospitals, fire departments, schools and other organizations. It also determines the number of seats in the House of Representatives.
Right now the City of Lauderdale Lakes is far behind most cities in the county that possibly need the funds less than we do. Below is a sample of census results among cities so far!
Weston 72.8%
Lauderdale Lakes 48.5%
Lauderhill 52.1%
Coconut Creek 51%
Coral Springs 57%
West Park 57%
Wilton Manors 57%
Hallandale 39%
We really need to step it up. The City of Lauderdale Lakes needs the additional funds, to finance our infrastructure, schools, hospitals and public safety concerns. If your child is in school they need to be counted so that we receive the funds to pay our teachers. I am requesting your support by asking that you please fill out and return your census form. If you didn’t receive your form in the mail during the month of March, please call telephone number 1(844)-330-2020 and someone will assist you in completing the form over the telephone.
After you have completed the form please call me at (954)535 -2736, and be sure to leave me a message if I am not available to answer your call immediately.
Thank you in advance!
Warm regards,
Beverly Williams, Commissioner
