(LAUDERDALE LAKES, Florida) — The City of Lauderdale Lakes welcomed the city’s new Broward County educators to a new school year by extending a special invitation to tour our community on August 15, 2017 at 9am.
The City Mayor and Commission along with The City’s School Advisory Board met the new Lauderdale Lakes area educators for a light breakfast and a full tour of our “We Care” City. The tour began at City Hall located at 4300 NW 36th Street in the beautiful City of Lauderdale Lakes. Leslie Campbell of Park Lakes Elementary School Counselor said “We had a wonderful time! I thought it was very helpful. I did discover a few areas that I was not aware of in Lauderdale Lakes.” Campbell also stated that “a few of the new teachers are not from Florida so it was great to opportunity for them to spend time in the area in which they will be serving.”
Mayor Hazelle Rogers and City Manager, Phil Alleyne served as Tour Guides, providing detailed information about the area and how it relates to the students they will be educating in the 2017-2018 school year. “It is always a pleasure to partner with our schools, parents, residents and businesses as we continue to become a vibrant, connected, diverse and safe community”, said Mayor Hazelle Rogers. “The first step is to embrace and engage while learning what make this a unique place to live, work and play. I hope they enjoyed the tour and will remember the important information provided.”
