[ARCHIVED] Lauderdale Lakes Welcomes A New Commissioner and Applauds A Incumbent For Her Victory

LAUDERDALE LAKES, FL, November 19, 2018– The City of Lauderdale Lakes held an installation ceremony for Newly Elected Officials on November 19th for Commissioner Marilyn D. Davis and for current Vice Mayor Beverly Williams. The event was held in the City Hall Chamber located on the second floor of 4300 NW 36th Street in Lauderdale Lakes.

The doors were opened to many who came to witness the installation service for Marilyn D. Davis that won Commission Seat 1, formerly held by Gloria Lewis who served her 8 years of term, and for Vice Mayor Beverly Williams, re-elected to her Commission Seat 2.  Both Commissioners opted to have their Pastor swear them in.  Reverend Dr. Derrick J. Hughes of First Baptist Church Piney Grove for Vice Mayor Williams and Reverend Stanley Melek of Harris Chapel United Methodist Church for Commissioner Davis.  Mayor Hazelle Rogers provided a warm welcome to the residents and dignitaries who came to witness the account.  Dale Holness, Broward County Commissioner, Marsha Ellison, NAACP President, Brenda Forman, Broward County Clerk of Courts, Sheneka Blue , Principal of Oriole Elementary School, Dr. Howard Jones, Lauderdale Lakes Middle School Interim Principal,  Razor, Comedian and of course, DJ Big Man Kelly, Hot 105 FM Radio Personality whose mother is none other than Commissioner Marilyn D. Davis, all came to witness the installation ceremony.

The City of Lauderdale Lakes is poised to continue to make strides with the current Mayor and Commission compliment.  This group of still, 5 women are smart, hardworking, dedicated and excited about the Strategic Plan that the City has adopted.
